YACL
Terms of Use
Effective and last updated: 24 July 2026
About these terms
These terms apply to the YACL (Young Adults Community League) website, a community sports league based in Queensland, Australia. By using the site — browsing it, registering a club, accepting a player invitation or submitting content — you agree to these terms. If you have questions about them, contact us through the Support page.
Accounts and captains
When you register a club or hold a captain account, you agree to:
- provide accurate information about yourself and your club;
- only manage players you are genuinely authorised to represent as their club captain;
- use your own account and keep your password confidential; and
- not impersonate another person, club or organisation.
Club applications are reviewed by the league before approval, and nothing you submit is published until it has been approved.
Club and player information
Captains who submit names, details or photos of other people are responsible for having each person’s permission to do so. Players who join through a player invitation give their own consent to publication when they submit the form, and their submission is published only if their captain accepts them onto the roster.
If someone’s information has been submitted without their permission, they can ask for it to be corrected or removed through the Support page.
Your content
You keep ownership of the content you submit — club identity, photos, verses, chants and other material. So that the league can operate, you give YACL a limited licence to host, store, process (including resizing images), reproduce and display that content within the YACL website and services, and to use it in ways reasonably expected for promoting the league and its competitions. This licence ends for content that is removed from the site, except where copies reasonably remain in backups or in published league history for so long as they are needed.
Content standards
YACL is a community competition and everyone is welcome. Content you submit must be yours to share and must not be unlawful, misleading, offensive or harmful to others. The league reviews submissions before publication and may decline or remove content that does not meet these standards.
Competition information
Fixtures, results, statistics, achievements and rankings are maintained in good faith, but errors can occur. YACL may correct competition records, and official league decisions determine competition outcomes. Information on the site is provided for the purposes of the league and is not professional advice.
Suspending or ending access
YACL may suspend or remove an account, club or content where reasonably necessary — for example, where these terms are breached, where content appears to have been submitted without permission, or to protect the site or other participants. Where practicable, we will provide an explanation.
Availability
We aim to keep the site available and accurate, but it is a community-run service and may occasionally be interrupted, changed or updated without notice.
Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in the Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.
Liability
Subject to the section above, and to the extent permitted by law, YACL is not liable for loss arising from reliance on published competition information, from content submitted by other users, or from interruptions to the site. Participation in sport itself is governed by the league’s rules and the arrangements of the participating clubs, not by these website terms.
Links to other sites
The site may link to websites operated by others (for example, church or community pages). YACL does not control and is not responsible for their content.
Privacy
How we handle personal information is explained in the Privacy Policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the league or the website changes. The date at the top shows when they were last updated. If you keep using the site after an update, the updated terms apply.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applying in Queensland, Australia.
